Stylish Green Pans

Back in December I wrote a blog about GreenPan frying pans. GreenPan are designed to be environmentally friendly and use an alternative non-stick coating called Thermolon that doesn’t contain PTFE.

I really like the idea of GreenPan and am very excited to announce that they have increased their product range to include saucepans, woks and casseroles as we well as the familiar frying and grill pans.

Further still, not only have they increased their range of products, but also their choice of styles too. Whether you want a hard anodised, stainless steel or aluminium pan, there will be something for you - and the ranges cover a variety of price points.

The new ranges are also much more usable and the Stockholm Triply, Vienna Hard Anodised and Vienna Black Aluminium are all suitable for induction hobs. Wonderful!

GreenPan = Green Living

Frying may not be the healthiest way of cooking, but who said it had to be bad for the environment too? From materials to manufacturing, from packaging to aftercare, GreenPan by Typhoon have considered the processes and have tried to make each stage as eco-friendly as possible.

The body of the GreenPan is recycled black aluminium, giving second life to previously processed materials. This however does not skimp on the quality and the pan is guaranteed for 5 years.

The aluminium is also fully coated in Thermolon, a natural ceramic, PTFE-free non-stick coating. Unlike traditional non-stick coating, Thermolon is cured at a lower temperature, reducing the percentage of carbon emissions emitted.

The environmental care doesn’t stop after the manufacturing of the pans: the packaging the pans are sold in, and the information leaflets that are sent out, are all printed on recycled paper.

My favourite thing about the GreenPan is that for every pan sold, Typhoon plant a tree in India to help offset carbon emissions and provide farmers with crops to further their trade and improve their family’s livelihood.

Typhoon’s GreenPan is ideal for general household use as the non-stick coating is superior and resistant up to 450C and the professional Bakelite handle is designed to stay cool and has a lovely, comfortable ergonomic grip.

The era of the Glamour Nanny is upon us

The lovely people at Typhoon have realised that just because people want to be a bit green and not use plastic bags, it doesn’t mean they want a bad back and unfortunate style. Armed with this gem of information Typhoon have redesigned the shopping trolley and made it not only practical for supermarket shopping, but also STYLISH!

The lightweight trolley is extremely spacious inside (a bit like the tardis) and has two inner pockets as well as a fully insulated cool bag. The top fastens with a drawstring, which is perfect for squishing in those last minute Christmas purchases, and the Velcro flap will keep everything safe and dry. Scouts Promise.
